Summer has finally arrived in Norway. That means a lot of kiters are out there and enjoying our nice beaches, and needless to say, we DO want to keep it this way. If you are considering kiting at Sola, the popular beach southwest of Stavanger, we urge you to read and acknowledge this article so that we can enjoy this nice spot for years to come.
Sola beach is located right next to Stavanger Airport, and due to airport regulations, kiters are NOT ALLOWED to sail south of the hotel. Kites tend to stick far up into the air, and may distract or interfere with airplane take-off or landings. Please respect this restriction, and inform other kiters that are unaware of this.
Also, when kiting in crowded beaches (such as Sola), we ask that you pay attention to other beach guests so that we avoid any negative incidents!
The map below indicates the NO-KITING zone at Sola.
